Restricted The hijinks should be hilarious, considering Hackman and Romano's comic sensibilities And Hackman and Romano are backed by an excellent supporting cast that includes Marcia Gay Harden, Rip Torn, Maura Tierney and Christine Baranski PG-13 â€â€? Special parental guidance strongly suggested for children under 13 Petrie's pacing is sluggish and Schulman's script is awkwardly constructed and just plain not funny Hackman plays President Monroe "Eagle" Cole, a two-termer who leaves the White House with a whopping 85 percent approval rating â€â€?â€â€?â€â€? Motion Picture Association of America rating definitions: G â€â€? General audiences Director Donald Petrie ("Miss Congeniality," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days") has a track record in populist comedy, while there's a reasonable expectation of wit and depth in the screenplay by Tom Schulman, an Academy Award winner for "Dead Poets Society Some material may be inappropriate for young children The movie clunkily orchestrates scenarios that turn Monroe and Handy into fierce rivals: Monroe inexplicably agreeing to city elders' request that he run for mayor; Handy filing for the mayor's race (also inexplicably); Handy's determination to stay in the campaign so he doesn't look like a quitter after Monroe asks Sally on a date "Lucky bounce, sir," is the mantra PG â€â€?
