Voice Auditions

Voice Auditions

If you think you have a good voice, you could have a new career in the entertainment industry. There are several jobs available if you have good voice like voice over work or working as a backup singer in television commercials.

The first step to finding a job for your talented voice is to go on a voice audition. Before arriving for your voice audition, make sure you limber up your voice by gargling with warm water and then reciting your favorite monologue or singing your favorite song.

Voice auditions usually involve a director or producer who is looking for a specific voice for a particular job. If it is a television commercial for shaving cream you will be asked to speak in a masculine voice during the voice audition.

Before landing a voice audition, you should research talent agencies that can represent you and inform you about auditions for voice over work and television commercial jobs.

When you arrive for your voice audition, make sure to bring a CD of your voice talent with you. Show up to your voice audition on time and make sure you are prepared to wow the producer or director with your voice.

It is always a good idea to practice using your voice daily to make sure you keep sharp. Record yourself and have friends, family and professionals listen to your CD so you can get their feedback.

Going to a voice audition is not the only way to break into the entertainment industry. Casting directors, producers and directors list thousands of auditions every day for actors, models, singers and musicians.

If you rely on your voice for your livelihood, make sure you take care of it. Don’t smoke. Don’t yell and don’t talk for extended periods if you don’t have to.

Professional voice talents make their money by being unique. If you sound like everyone else, you probably will not get a voice audition.
